Who we help and why

We are committed to reaching all survivors and those impacted by various forms of harm. Our mission extends to families, professionals, community leaders, and agencies, aiming to improve community safety and connection for everyone.

In person spaces

In person, one to one or group meet ups. Online communication and connection. Safe spaces to blether and connect

The Borders is a beautiful, rural area but it's landscape can be quite isolated in many ways. Survivors Aloud offers face to face spaces to just talk and connect. Coffee and conversation, walks and talks. A space to just vent, blether, to just be.

We also offer online methods of communication and spaces for group meetings can be arranged.

Our unique approach

Survivors Aloud offers person-centred, survivor-led, and survivor-paced support. We provide information and lived experience as the foundation of our awareness initiatives, delivering in-person information and empowerment talks to related parties and groups.

Building resilience

We foster connections with established supportive people, companies, and charities. Our online and in person, group and individual, spaces are safe and accessible, backed by trauma-informed personnel, and hosts events and activities aligned with our mission to reduce isolation in rural areas like the Scottish Borders.

Nature can heal. Community connects

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s vital to engage with the environment around us. Our local parks and nature spaces offer beautiful settings that foster safety, space, relaxation and connection.

We can further enhance community interaction through trauma-aware coffee shops and venues. These spaces prioritize safety and comfort, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a warm drink and a friendly conversation without fear of judgement or discomfort. By creating and utilising environments that are sensitive to the needs of all individuals, especially those who have experienced trauma, we can build stronger connections within our community. All support is survivor led and survivor paced

We also offer our services via online, emails, video, calls

and via our sites

For larger events and activities, hiring safe venues is essential. These spaces should not only accommodate guests but also create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and secure. By focusing on accessibility and inclusivity in our choice of locations, we are contributing to a society that values every individual.
